Group support plays a vital role in recovery from narcissistic abuse and parental alienation.  Finding people who understand what you have been through and the challenges you face is essential in unpicking the narrative the narcissist creates that you are all bad.  Even though we know that not to be true, when we hear it enough times, we can begin to question our own reality.  Group support allows you to hear the same lines used on you by other abusers which can offer great reassurance that not only are you not alone is this but that it wasn’t about you at all.

Another key benefit of Peer Support is the greater perceived empathy and respect that peer supporters are seen to have for the individuals they supportPeer Support also has benefits for peer support workers themselves, increasing levels of self-esteem, confidence and positive feelings that they are doing good.

With everything that is going on in the world right now, it feel the right time to introduce this as the isolation associated with coronavirus will retrigger us and can cause us to go back to old patterns of fear of abandonment which may result is us seeking out contact from either the ex (abuser) or someone equally as abusive.

Group support can be the bridge for those of you unable to see your therapist or afford it whilst things are so tough.
