It’s felt like you’re watching this car crash happen in slow motion around you never really sure of how you ended up in this chaos. Of course you’ve been told it was all you but now you’re not so sure. In fact. You KNOW it wasn’t all you.
There have been some seriously crazy moments along the way! And the scars are still there.
Something has changed and you can’t quite figure out why your old self seems so out of reach. Why each time you think you’re back on track something comes along and derails the whole thing.
Totally unconnected stuff triggers rage or panic or utter sadness. In some ways that’s actually to best bit. It’s far more real than the emptiness.
I get it.
And you’re not mad.
But there’s a chance that a crappy relationship has left you with cPTSD.
No it’s not just something soldiers get.
The key word here is trauma. And it’s not all in your head either.
Your body has a very specific way of preparing you for battle. Evolution has meant that you are one of the best humans ever to be on the planet at creating a stress response that will save your life. It’s the expert response that stopped your ancestors getting eaten by a lion or kept them sharp, alert and strong during battle.
The problem with this highly efficient survival system is it also triggers in times of stress. Our bodies are a bit rubbish at knowing the difference between an ex screaming and shouting in our faces and a lions roar before it eats us. So the body reacts the same.
Now if you’d spent the last 5, 7, 13 years being chased by a lion trying not to get eaten you would understandably be a bit knackered by now. And your body would probably be showing signs of wear and tear.
PTSD is the name for this type of prolonged stress response in the body. It means your body hasn’t been able to flip back into netflix and chill mode because it still thinks a lion is behind the telly.
So our re-write the script calls are designed to flip your body back into chill mode. Think of it as waking sleeping beauty if you will. Based on the extensive research into PTSD this technique lifts the spell. It’s giving your permission to switch off, and from there you can begin to operate in thriving mode rather than spending every day being chased by a lion.
We have two different types of therapy for PTSD because we know that one size doesn’t fit all. Both approaches are highly successful but very different.
The Rewind technique is a non-disclosure, rapid results technique. During this session we will:
- Assess your symptoms using a point scale to decide if the treatment is suitable (if not, we can discuss other options with you or provide a full refund)
- Ask you to decide on the most traumatic incident you would like to deal with (you do not need to share this if you don’t want to)
- Talk you through the 4 step process you will go through during the session
- Start the process which takes about 2-3 minutes, review and repeat the process until your responses to the event is altered
- We then follow up with you in 2 weeks to reassess your scores and see how much your PTSD symptoms have reduced
- You may then find another incident has been playing on your mind and so we can then repeat the process.

The Life Story technique is a unique approach developed by our therapist Dr Rachel Cason. It allows you to put your life experiences into context and develop clarity.
Life Story work is collaborative and fluid, although most client work moves through three phases.
- The Life Story Interview
- Analysis sessions
- Accompaniment Sessions
During your life story interview, you are mapping out your narrative. After the session we then revisit the experience of telling your story. The ‘data’ of your story then gives way to emergent patterns and themes. In hourly sessions we examine these through the prism of the challenges you are currently facing, such as we will have discussed during your consultation. In this way it becomes possible to explore your journey so far, and the ways in which your past is contributing to your present. The findings from this process then go on to inform our subsequent sessions together.
The first session is two hours in which time you will walk the therapist through your life, from birth to the present day, focusing as you feel relevant on any events that are of special significance to you. They may ask follow up questions as you move through your story, to expand their understanding of your experiences.
The initial session is £120 and subsequent sessions are £60.
